Membership Eligibility
Any woman over the age of 18, and who is lineally descended from one who served, or was loyal to the cause of American Independence, is eligible for membership in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. This would be someone who served as a sailor, soldier, civil officer, or who rendered material aid to the Colonies and/or paid taxes.
NSDAR and our chapter do not discriminate against an applicant for membership on the basis of race or creed.
Some of the steps you will need to take are…
– Trace/prove family lineage going back 7 to 9 generations
– Identify your Revolutionary War Patriot ancestor
– Locate a DAR chapter — we hope you will consider Nathaniel Bacon!
– Complete the application process
